What are the methods to improve the performance of submerged arc furnace lining?
Now the capacity of submerged arc furnace is increasing. Generally, it is 23000 KVA, and more than 100000 kVA. However, the furnace lining masonry technology inherits the traditional technology of small capacity furnace lining in the past and has not been greatly improved. Therefore, at present, due to the frequent occurrence of early damage accidents of submerged arc furnace, especially the lining of ferroalloy submerged arc furnace, it has caused huge economic losses to many enterprises. At the same time, submerged arc furnace hinders the development of technology and has become a long-standing and difficult problem of smelting technology. According to the introduction of submerged arc furnace manufacturers, there are three masonry methods for submerged arc furnace lining at present:
1. Carbon brick wide seam method: leave a gap of about 50mm between carbon bricks, charge and crush them with their own carbon materials with cold soup, and then lay about 10cm cold soup on them.
2. Seamless method of carbon bricks: there is no interval between carbon bricks. When stacking, firmly stick each carbon brick with a jack and lay about 10cm cold soup on it. At present, more methods are being used.
3. Overall tamping method: cast the whole furnace with cold soup without carbon brick.
The above three methods have their own characteristics and disadvantages.
1. In the wide joint method, the brick joint is first consumed by the erosion of iron wire. The iron wire penetrates under the carbon brick and gradually ignites the carbon brick to make the furnace lining ineffective.
2. The so-called seamless method actually has no real joints. Hot water flows along the brick joint to the bottom of the carbon brick, gradually leading to the failure and scrapping of the whole lining.
3. The overall tamping method is that the carbon brick does not go through the process of high-pressure compression and vacuum roasting, and its performance is far lower than that of the pre baked carbon brick. Therefore, the service life is short, generally not more than one year, but this method is cheap and the construction period is short.
Through years of production practice, submerged arc furnace manufacturers have compared the differences of these three methods. On the basis of the seamless method of the original carbon brick, the carbon brick is reprocessed into annular groove and concave structure. Skillfully using the characteristics of their own carbon materials, they have developed a new method of connecting carbon bricks and connecting multi-layer and inter layer. Cut off the gap between metal penetration and transverse penetration, and connect the carbon bricks of the whole furnace lining together.
